A brief introduction of J.M.W. Turner was given and his work of art was discussed. Students were exposed to the elements of artistic work for the first time. They were familiarized with how to focus on certain aspects of any artwork, i.e minute detailing: drawing, colours, shades, brushwork etc. Some time was given to them to do silent study of the picture and appreciate the sense of beauty it depicts. Brainstorming writing prompts were given to them in order to assess how much they have retained.
